Jasmine Baptiste died in a crash on Washington Blvd. near 5th Street in Beaumont.
Jasmine Baptist, niece of former mayor Robin Mouton, was killed early Sunday morning about 1:00 a.m. in a crash with a suspected drunk driver. Beaumont police arrested Lajanara Stevenson on a charge of intoxication manslaughter. Jasmine Baptiste left behind a 3 year old son named Bryson. It is illegal in Texas for a bar to serve a customer beyond the point of intoxication. Toxicology tests are still pending. When it comes to drunk drivers, do not give the bars a free pass.
