Jacob Lewis killed by alleged drunk driver.

Jacob Lewis was struck from behind by an alleged drunk driver as he pushed his disabled vehicle after attending a Taylor Swift concert in Houston.  According to KBTX, Allen Bryant Hayes was arrested after leaving the scene and may face multiple charges.  Hayes reportedly had prior arrests for Driving While Intoxicated.  In an era of ride sharing apps, there is no excuse for driving while intoxicated.  This type of tragedy is 100% preventable.  If Hayes was overserved alcohol at a bar or restaurant, civil damages for wrongful death may be available. According to KTRK, Kristina Chambers has been charged with intoxication manslaughter.  Her blood alcohol level was reportedly four times the legal limit.  There is no way a bar should serve a customer that much alcohol.  The fatal crash occurred shortly after the mandatory 2:00 a.m. closing time for bars.  Such a tragic and preventable loss.
