Carmen Guevara arrested for intoxication manslaughter.
On May 19, 2024, Roman Perez and Rosi Perez were killed on a motorcycle when a truck driven by Carmen Guevara reportedly failed to yield and turned right into them. Corpus Christi police arrested Guevara for two counts of intoxication manslaughter. A candlelight vigil is being held tonight on Airline Road near South Padre Island Drive where the crash happened. Guevara remains jailed on $1 million bond. The victims were described as dedicated parents who had just hosted a birthday party for their kids. Both were in their early thirties. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a commercial truck crash near Eagle Pass which took the lives of five family members. The crash happened May 28, 2024 and is still under investigation. The Fed Ex truck driver was hospitalized with injuries but survived. Toxicology tests may show whether he was impaired.
