Sunnyvale police claim that Edgar Cortez was driving the wrong way in the eastbound lanes of Highway 80 when he crashed head-on into Washington's car. The crash happened around 2:00 a.m. when bars are required to close. When wrong-way crashes occur at this late hour, alcohol is typically suspected.
