El Paso County Sheriff's Office is investigating a double fatality which occurred Saturday night at the intersection of Rojas and Eastlake. Dalia Olivas was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her fiancé Rick Ballard when suspected drunk driver Juan Del Valle Ferrer allegedly ran a red light and t-boned them. The couple was killed in the crash. Del Valle Ferrer said he had a lot to drink at a gender reveal party. He was arrested on two counts of intoxication manslaughter. Dalia Olivas was a teacher at Triumph High School in El Paso. There has been no indication whether the gender reveal was a commercial establishment which sells alcohol. If so, there could be potential for liability for over-service of alcohol. If you or a loved one have been victims of drunk driving, call Texas Dram Shop Lawyer for a free consultation.
