Luz Aurora Casado, her mother Maria Guadalupe Zavala Casado and her two-year-old granddaughter Elleiana Santoy were all killed in a head-on collision caused by a suspected drunk driver. The fatal crash occurred Monday night July 24, 2023 at about 9:14 p.m. The fatal crash happened in the 2200 block of South Jackson Road according to Edinburg Police. Investigation indicates that the suspected drunk driver crossed into the oncoming path of Luz Aurora Casado. The horrible impact caused the death of Luz Casado, her mother, Maria and 2-year-old granddaughter Elleiana Santoy. Casado's niece is also critically injured. The suspected drunk driver was identified as Sheng Li Jiang who was also reported to be in critical condition. Intoxication manslaughter charges are likely.
