Cody Austin Beard of Crockett, Texas was killed in a head-on collision near Cayuga on August 11, 2023.
An Anderson County crash took the life of Cody Austin Beard on US 287 near Cayuga, Texas. The head-on collision occurred in a no-passing zone when a pickup truck crossed the centerline and hit Beard head-on. The crash sent both vehicles off the road and both caught fire. Neither driver survived. The Texas Department of Public Safety is continuing its investigation. It may take weeks to determine whether alcohol was involved.
