Melissa Lauman killed in crash on I-30 near Arlington.

Eastbound lanes of I-30 were closed due to a double fatality which claimed the life of Melissa Lauman.

Shortly after midnight on September 18, 2023, a three-vehicle crash took the lives of two individuals. Melissa Lauman was identified as one of the deceased. Fort Worth Police investigated the crash and identified a Harley Davidson motorcycle, a Cadillac SUV and a pickup truck as the vehicles involved. The crash happened near Cooks Lane and Chase Parkway. All eastbound lanes of I-30 were closed for more than six hours. Two other people have been hospitalized with incapacitating injuries. The investigation is ongoing and officers ask for the public's assistance. The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a commercial truck crash near Eagle Pass which took the lives of five family members. The crash happened May 28, 2024 and is still under investigation. The Fed Ex truck driver was hospitalized with injuries but survived. Toxicology tests may show whether he was impaired. It remains unknown why he was driving the wrong way.
