Two people crushed to death by 18-wheeler in Austin.

Cynthia Boone and Miraj Parson killed in 18-wheeler crash.

On Friday night, May 31, 2024, an 18-wheeler reportedly failed to yield the right of way and crushed a sedan driven by Cynthia Boone and occupied by Miraj Parson. Both were killed in the crash which happened on East Oltorf Street about 9:18 p.m. Two other passengers were injured but survived. The 18-wheeler was reportedly a HEB delivery truck. No indication whether fatigue was a factor.

The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating a commercial truck crash near Eagle Pass which took the lives of five family members. The crash happened May 28, 2024 and is still under investigation. The Fed Ex truck driver was hospitalized with injuries but survived. Toxicology tests may show whether he was impaired. It remains unknown why he was driving the wrong way.
